"A Tweet"

Today I was watching the newest episode of Close to My Heart Tv and Jeanette made the most beautiful valentine card using this stamp set. After watching the episode, I couldn't wait to get out my stamp set and make one similiar to it. Hers had a heart and other embelishments. I decided to go a little simpler on my card. I am really loving bird stamps and this was my first opportunity to ink this one up. The set is called "A Tweet" and the paper is "Veranda". The stamp set is so afordable. It is only $7.95. What a deal. This card was very simple to make, because there was no coloring involved. To make the bird, I used the two step method of stamping. First I stamped the bird in Tulip ink and stamped it onto a piece of scratch paper. Then I stamped it again on the paper that I was planning to use. The image was very light at first. After cutting out the bird, I took a sponge, swiped it in Tulip ink and sponged around the edges. I did the same method with the flowers. This gave a soft look to the bird and made the color dimensional instead of flat. The bird is raised up on a foam square. I love this card so much, that I am not sure who I will send it to.

This is so pretty and the second card I've seen today in blogland using this set. It's got to be on my need list now.

Lori,
I LOVE your card! The color effects on the bird are just beautiful! It's called "A Tweet" ? That's good to know, I had it wrong! How silly of me.

Your flowers are very pretty, too, and the Veranda papers are just so soft!
