Redecorating Lexi's and Brooke's Room Part 2

The saga of the girls room continues...

Lexi and I talked and she loves the idea of having a Paris style bedroom so we went online to Pinterest searching for ideas to make this room work. Teal and black. Purple and black. Aqua and black. They all look great and we love them. She really likes the light teal walls.

I went to the paint store and ordered a few different shades of Teal for the walls.

The next step is to figure out what to do about beds. Lexi has a double bed and Brooke has a toddler bed, that was previously her crib. Two twin beds with matching bedspreads would look best, but we don't want to downsize Lexi's bed. So what now? A double and a twin bed in the same room? How will that work?

And how is this going to fit in with Brooke's style?

Think, think, think!!!

Redecorating Lexi and Brooke's Bedroom

This past week has been very stressful. I promised Lexi that I would redecorate her "little girls pink" bedroom for her 11th birthday in October. She was so excited and wanted to do it in  teal and purple. A big girls room.

Last weekend we went shopping at Target and I bought her the light teal and purple bedspread that she saw at a friends house and wanted so badly, matching Eiffel Tower lamp and obnoxiously big white furry pillow. She was so excited until we got home and her mother said that she did not like the comforter and wanted it to all go back. Light purple is a color that she detests. Lexi was so upset and stormed upstairs.

On top of that, 3 year old Brooke who shares a room with Lexi wants her bedroom to be in PINK and made it VERY clear. With her scrunched up face she looked at Lexi and in a sarcastic tone said "I want my bedroom to be pink and purple!!!"

Story to continue....

Zoe Paper Piecing Layout

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your summer and keeping cool. It has been quite hot up here in Northern California. And, my family has been using the pool almost daily to keep cool. Last week was so hot that the pool could't even cool you off. It got up to 90 degrees! Way too hot for me.

Yesterday I got a chance to use the new Zoe paper pack from Close to My Heart.  Along with paper pieces from Miss Kate Cuttables that I cut in Cricut Design Space, I created this layout for pool pictures of my granddaughters.

I love the colors in this paper pack: Glacier, Sorbet, Canary, Slate, Sweet Leaf and Whisper.  I added Sunset plus a couple of new colors that will be available in September...a blue called Peacock and a red called Poppy.

The Zoe Paper Pack is available for purchase and can be ordered on my website.  If you order through the website the price of shipping is only $4.95 or 4.95% of your order. Pretty awesome.

CTMH Convention and Studio J

My family and I are home sick with the flu. And while laying in bed, I created these Studio J layouts on the Close to My Heart website. They were so quick and easy to make. All you have to do is drop your digital pictures into the pre-made layouts. Stubborn me always wants to make layouts from paper and embellishments, but I am so glad that I gave this a try. They were fun to make and look real. The layouts are only $5 per two page layout until the end of July. It was fun re-living my trip to the CTMH convention. If you have not tried digital scrapbooking, go ahead and give it a try. There is no obligation to purchase anything. You can create your own layouts here: http://loriscott.ctmh.com/ctmh/products/studioj.aspx

Brooke's Birthday

When most of you see this post you are going to be surprised. I haven't blogged in years! But I am back and want to start up again. I have been frequenting Blogger and enjoying all of your blogs and art work. So for today's post I want to share a layout that I did of our Miss Brooke for her third birthday. I used the December stamp of the month called Cutie Pie and pretty much followed the layout that CTMH used only I added a second page and changed a few things. I did not have the Black Arrow Washi tape that they used, so I used a stamp that had an arrow. I also didn't have the Handwritten Print alphabet stamp that they used. It is on my wish list...as are many things. So, instead I used my cricut and found a cupcake title that I liked. The yellow checked paper is from the Confetti Wishes paper pack. See you soon :)
