2010 Christmas Card Challege Week #4

It's two days after Christmas and I am making Christmas Cards. No, I am not sending my cards out late. I am trying to be early. I joined Sparkle's weekly Holiday Card Challenge. This way I will have my cards ready for next year. For this card, I used "Lily Snowflake Fairy" from Pink Cat Studios. The DP is "Eskimo Kisses" from Basic Grey. Sparkle challenged us to make a card using these cute cupcakes as our inspiration. I liked the blue frosting and the snowflakes. They gave me a chance to ink up Lily. The holiday season has flown by and I have many uninked stamps waiting for me. Thanks to Sparkle, now I have a reason to ink them up.

Jingle Scrapbook Workshop

These are the layouts that we will be making for my January Workshop. With the help of some of the talended CTMH consultants, I was able to come up with these layouts. I put these layouts together a week ago and was able to just add my pictures. I used CTMH's Jingle Paper Pack and Stickese. I added some CTMH Twinkle Brads to the the top of the trees, tags and paper buttons. On the first layout, I used Liquid Glass on the ornaments. Hope you had a nice Christmas.

Christmas Eve at the "Griswalds"

Merry Christmas Everyone. Last night we went to my niece, Yvette's home. Every year, she and her husband decorate their yard with a Disney theme. He sketches out the characters, cuts and paints them. It was a challenge for them to transform their house into the Princess Castle, but they succeeded. Have a wonderful day.

More Christmas Cards

Bill informed me the other day that we needed 20 more cards. The one thing that I have realized about making cards in mass quantities, is that they need to be simple. The reason I say this, is that you will stress yourself out trying to get them made. For my workshop this year, I stuck to this, and my workshop was a success and everyone was happy. I love the fancy cards, but they are so much work unless you do like Sparkle and make a card a week. All of her cards are over-the-top gorgeous. I may have to participate in her challenges next year. But, for now I am happy with my simple cards. For my cards, I used the stamp set Holiday Trinkets by CTMH. And, the paper is Creative Basics.

Breakfast with Santa Layout

Yesterday was Breakfast with Santa at our church. Lexi had so much fun making crafts and playing with her friends. I especially love the photo of her snuggled up with Santa. This photo is very special, because the Santa is our very special friend Keith. He and his wife adore Lexi and have been a big part of my kids life. Keith has played Santa since my kids were little and that was over 20 years ago. This yummy paper from S.E.I is called "Christmas Mint".

Making the Blogger Experience a LOT better

I just learned something new on Jeanne's Blog. She has linked a blog that shows you how to customized your blogger tool bar. Check it out. There is even an "undo" button. How cool is that? You can read all about it Here.

Point of Grace Concert

Last night Jennifer and I got to see Point of Grace in concert at a church in the area. They put on an awesome show. Jennifer called me earlier in the day to let me know that they were playing near by and we were able to still get tickets. We first saw them about 10 years ago when they opened with Amy Grant and they are still awesome.

Advent Calendar

Yesterday, I took Lexi to Jazzy Crafts. She made this adorable Advent Calendar using bottle caps, liquid glass and a baking tray. Lexi had way too much decorating her project.

Before we went to Jazzy Crafts, we stopped by The Creamery for lunch and ice cream.
When we walked in the door of The Creamery, look who we saw. Lexi was so excited and she had a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving from Lexi

The turkey is from her hand print. We rubbed her hand in bamboo colored ink and placed it on the paper. She then watercolored it.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. You are probably busy putting your turkey in the oven or heading out to spend the day with friends and loved ones. Before my turkey goes into the oven, I would like to share a couple of cards with you. This first card uses CTMH's Tree Top Stamp Set and Goodness of Life.
This one uses Pumpkin Emma from C.C. Designs

So, what are your plans for today? I spent yesterday cleaning my house, because I have family coming over. We will have 25+ coming. Have a great day.
Hugs,
Lori

Crop Night

Last night was Crop Night at Jazzy Crafts in Castro Valley. I meet there once a month with some good friends and we always have so much fun. I made this layout there. I was inspired by Christine David's layout at the Portland Regionals that I couldn't wait to make one similiar to it.

Here I am with two of my good friends, Lorraine on the left and Pam on the right.

And, here is Jasmine the owner of Jazzy Crafts. She is always so sweet and helpful. She let me use her Cricut to cut out the letters and apple on my layout.
