Ketto's Dolly

I have been lacking in my card making lately and have needed a reason to make cards. I used to be able to make a card a day, but for some reason my mojo is lacking. I was reading "Nienie's" blog today, as I do every day and felt compassion for her. I posted her story a few months back. She is the beautiful young woman who was in a plane crash with her husband and was badly burned. I have her blog listed down on the right side of my blog. Her faith is such an inspiration to me. And, I admire her very much. Well, since I was feeling for her, I decided to make her a card and send it with a gift. I used today's "Bellarific Friday" Challenge from Stampingbella. The stamp used is from Stampingbella and is called "Ketto's Dolly". The paper used is "Silhouette" from Close to My Heart.

2010 Christmas Card Challenge #7

This card is for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge from last Sunday. Where has the week gone? Tomorrow will begin another challenge. I really want to keep up with these challenges so that I will have my Christmas cards ready for next year. The image used is from Pink Cat Studios and is called Reindeer ride. The paper is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey and the punches are from Martha Stewart. I used Liquid Applique for the pom pom on the hats.

Another Topstitch Layout

Are you ready for another Topstitch Layout??? I am really loving this paper and all the new papers in the Close to My Heart Spring Catalog. Lexi's preschool had a Mad Hatter Tea Party and I was fortunate enough to go to it. I love her school, the teachers and the kids. It is so perfect for her.

"A Tweet"

Today I was watching the newest episode of Close to My Heart Tv and Jeanette made the most beautiful valentine card using this stamp set. After watching the episode, I couldn't wait to get out my stamp set and make one similiar to it. Hers had a heart and other embelishments. I decided to go a little simpler on my card. I am really loving bird stamps and this was my first opportunity to ink this one up. The set is called "A Tweet" and the paper is "Veranda". The stamp set is so afordable. It is only $7.95. What a deal. This card was very simple to make, because there was no coloring involved. To make the bird, I used the two step method of stamping. First I stamped the bird in Tulip ink and stamped it onto a piece of scratch paper. Then I stamped it again on the paper that I was planning to use. The image was very light at first. After cutting out the bird, I took a sponge, swiped it in Tulip ink and sponged around the edges. I did the same method with the flowers. This gave a soft look to the bird and made the color dimensional instead of flat. The bird is raised up on a foam square. I love this card so much, that I am not sure who I will send it to.

Mojo Monday #122 and Veranda

I used the beautiful "Veranda" paper pack from Close to My Heart to make this card. I can't believe that I cut into a fresh pack of paper to make a card. My routine is to make as many layouts from a paper pack and then use the scraps to make cards. But this stamp set called "So Sweet" was screaming to use this paper. The colors in this paper pack are Creme Brulee, Juniper, Cocoa and Garden Green. The ribbon is from The Creme Brulee Designer Ribbon Rounds.
I used Mojo Monday Sketch #122.

Topstitch Layouts

These are the layouts that my club will be doing next month. They were made using the Topstitch Workshop on the Go. I am really loving this paper pack. It is so versitale. These layouts can be used for Valentine pictures, but I chose to use the pictures of Lexi's trip to my friends ranch. Don't you just love the chipboard hearts and sparkles?

I am planning on spending the day creating more layouts with the paper. Have a great day too :)

2010 Christmas Card Challenge #5

Hi Everyone,
I hope you had a nice Christmas and a happy New Year. I sure did and am  finally taking down the decorations. Everything looked so pretty and now it is so bare. But, thanks to Sparkle and her challenges I can make Christmas cards all year round. For this card, I used the sketch from Mojo 120. I had fun coloring Itty Bitty Betty Candy Cane Slide from Pink Cat Studio. The patterend paper is Jingle from CTMH and the punch is from Martha Stewart. Sparkle challenged us to use buttons on our card, so I chose these shiny little buttons from CTMH.

A Day On The Ranch

On New Years Eve day, my good friend Michelle had me and Lexi over to her ranch for the day. This was my first time going up on an ATV through the hills where we went to feed the cattle. Lexi had so much fun with Michelle's niece Annee. The girls played on the hay in the barn and played on Annee's horse swing. Chuck, Michelle's husband, gave them a hay ride. He had them sit on the hay in the back of the wagon while he rode the ATV up the hill to feed the cattle. We saw a new born calf and baby lambs. It was a wonderful experience for me and Lexi.
