Baby's First Birthday

I am going to a baby's first birthday party today and needed a card. I went through the many chilhood stamps that I have and used "First Steps" and "Childhood" both from CTMH. The pieces of the train and cloud are popped up and buttons are used for the wheels. I hope the parents like it.

Back to School Layout

 
 Lexi started the second grade last week. I used the Scholastic paper pack from Close to My Heart to do my layout. The owl and back to school saying is a cutting file from Bear Hugs.

Clementine Scrapbook Workshop

These are the layouts that we will make at my next scrapbook workshop at the end of August.

I Live For These Moments

I am finishing up my layouts from the CTMH Spring/Summer Idea book. This was one of my favorite paper packs and I love the layout on the cover. I was relieved to see that the Stella paper pack and Complements Canvas Shapes are available in the Autumn/Winter Catalog. 4th of July Layout

I have really been into making Paper Piecing Layouts recently. I love the way they turn out, but word of warning, they are not the easiest layouts to make. Every little piece has to be cut out and pieced together. I used the Silhouette Camio with the Design Studio Software to cut the pieces. If you get a Silhouette, make sure you purchase the software, otherwise the pieces are difficult to see on the screen. The Patriotic Bears came from "Designs on Cloud 9" and the title came from "Scrapping Bug Designs." The background paper is from CTMH's Fanfare paper pack.

Super Hero Card

Lexi is going to a boy's birthday today and while I have a ton of girly type stamps and pre-made made cards, I had nothing for a boy. In a panic, I searched the web for ideas and was able to put together this card using CTMH's Super Hero paper, badge buttons and matching stamp set. Lexi was happy with it and finished the inside with a drawing of her and the birthday boy at his party. The only thing that she didn't like was the back of the envelope that was embossed with Close to My Heart. Apparently, she didn't want to give the wrong message to this boy.

Happy Easter to My Peeps

I made this cute card using the  "My Peeps" stamp set from Close to My Heart. The center peep is attached to a coiled spring mechanism that allows it to pop up. I think this card would be so cute to send to someone with a box of pink bunny peeps. Yum. I love that gooey, sugary marshmallow taste.

Convention 2011 Layout

What a fun morning I had today putting this layout together. It brought back such happy memories of the fun that I had at the Close to My Heart Convention. I am already making plans for next years convention in Dallas and I can't wait.

My birthday happened to fall at the same time as Convention. I love how the Fanfare WOTG and stickers work so well with Disney.

Sneak Peak

This past Saturday I received my new Close to My Heart items that are in the new Fall/Winter Idea Book that comes out on August 1. The box has sat on my table, opened but untouched. At Convention they encouraged us to "consume" our scrapbook supplies and not "collect" them. How many of you can say with me "guilty?" Yep. I knew it. Not wanting to disturb the new papers, embellishments and stamps, I reluctantly took them out of the box and created this layout, that is similar to one in the new book. The paper pack is called "Typeset." Isn't it fun?


One of the things that I noticed about the art work at Convention, is that they like to use 3D Foam tape to pop up the main photo. I did it on my main photo and I love how it gives the layout dimension.
The word Family and the date use the new "Color Ready Cork Alphabet." The word photos and the banner use a new stamp set called "Vintage Type." Tucked in the "waxy flax" bow is one of our new "Bling Assortment" pretty pins. Don't you love it?

I just got back from an exciting week at Close To My Heart's Annual Convention in Disneyland. The theme was "When You Wish, and my wish came true. I wanted so badly to go, but wasn't sure if I would be able to make the trip with my broken leg. But I got to go and had so much fun. There was so much energy in the room from all the Consultants who were anticipating the unveiling of the Fall/Winter Idea Book and new products. Not only did we get to see all the new products and artwork, but we got to play with them as well.

Ticket for Two

I am loving these new Kenny K Stamps. They are so much fun to color. This is Biker Girl. She is colored with Copic markers. The paper used is Fanfare from Close to My Heart. The ticket stubs are Just the Ticket, also from CTMH.

Magnifique Layout

I love this paper with the peacock on it and was saving it for something special. This picture of Lexi with her violin is so precious to me and perfect for this layout. I used blue and green sparkles on the feathers and Mocha Opaque pearls around the bird. All supplies are from Close to My Heart.

The Scrappin' Ladies Layout

One of the things that bring great joy to my life is my CTMH Business. Through CTMH I have made such wonderful friendships and love having them over for my monthly Scrapbook Workshops. We always have so much fun together and the group keeps growing. This layout uses the new "Wings" paper pack and a couple of new stamps sets that will be available in the new catalog that comes out in February. They are "Dreams Come True" and "Take a Picture". I have also used some of the new embelishments. Notice the pleated ribbon and black courdoroy buttons, brads and black ribbon.

January Workshop

For my workshop this month we will make these layouts that I learned how to make at Convention this pas summer. We will be using the "Magnifique" paper pack and "Flip Flaps."
These layouts are interactive, as they open to show more photos. This picture shows the layout closed.

When you open the flip flaps, this is what it looks like on the inside.This is the second layout that we will make. Here it is closed.And, then open. I love that it can hold so many photos. I was able to scrapbook most of my vacation photos in these two layouts.This is the paper that comes in the "Magnifique" paper pack. I have got to come up with something really special for the peacock page.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my Blogger and Facebook Friends. I hope you are surrounded with love during this special time of year. This layout was featured in the Fall/Winter CTMH catalog. I loved it so much, that I had to make a copy of it and add my own pictures. I love how the pictures of my daughter, her family and me and Bill fit into this layout.

Thanksgiving Layouts

Hi Everyone, I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving. This is one of my favorite holiday's. I love visiting with my family and watching the kids, all excited, playing with their cousins. And, as usual I love how the CTMH papers and layouts always go so well with my photos. These layouts were done at my November scrapbook workshop using the Olivia paper pack. The top one uses the "Levitate sketch" from Magic and the bottom uses the "Role Play" sketch from Imagine. The nice thing about having them done ahead of time is that all I have to do is add the pictures. Sketches used to frustrate me because they didn't always fit my pictures. Once I learned that sketches are a guide for you to start with, I was able to manipulate my pictures to fit. For instance on the bottom layout, the left page used a 6 x 6 picture on top and two 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 pictures on the bottom. As you can see from my photos, the pictures on the bottom would not work at the 3 1/2 inch size. Instead of using those sizes, I used a 5 x 7 on top and 3 1/2 x 5 photos on the bottom. So there ends my frustration. It works.

Convention Layouts

I had so much fun this past summer at Convention in Washington DC and can't wait until next Summer for the next one! The paper that I chose for my layout is called "You Rock" from CTMH. When I first saw this paper pack, I did not like it and set it aside. But, I love how well it goes with my Convention photos. The layout that I used is appropriately called "On with the Show" from "Magic."

Halloween Layout

I am giving a party for a new customer and she asked me to do a Halloween layout using glitter. I was inspired by a layout that was done by a fellow CTMH consultant, I wish that I remember her name, on the CTMH boards using "Raise the Curtain" from the Magic layout book. I did a modified version of hers by turning the first page upside down and putting the title on black. I used bulk Hooligans paper, and Black and Gypsy cardstock. The little monsters have Prisma Glitter on them and the title is stamped with the "Cocktail Alphabet" set.
