A Valentine for my Sweetie

This coming Tuesday is Valentine's Day! I love that day! Can I say Chocolate!!!
For the occasion, I made this valentine for my sweetie using the January SOTM "Adore You" from Close to My Heart.

I cut the hearts out of CTMH Pomegranate Cardstock on my Cricut and embossed them and the white cardstock with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder that was in my stash. The heart border punch was also in my stash.

A lot of times when I make a card, I get inspired by ideas that I see on Pinterest, but I don't always have the exact supplies that were used. So I go through the "many" crafting supplies (hint hint....does that sound like you?)  that I already own and use them. I kind of prefer this method because I get to explore my own creativity.

The flowers were colored with CTMH Shin Han markers. You will notice that I left some white space on the flowers and leaves. I did this to give them some depth and make it look like the sun was shining on them. In the flower centers, not sure if you can see, but there are Bitty Sparkles.

I know many of you do not like "fussy cutting" or as they say "fussy cutting makes me fussy". However, I am one of the ones that enjoys it. The trick to it is to use small scissors.  When you hold the paper up and start cutting, you want to turn the paper instead of the scissors. It took me a while to learn this trick, but with a lot of practice, I got the hang of it. Lastly, I popped the flower bunch up with foam tape.

Happy Valentine's Day to you my lovely friends! If you don't have a special person in your life, please show yourself some love. My recommendation is to buy yourself a box of your favorite chocolate and pamper yourself. That might mean, taking a hot bath with lit candles, buying yourself a beautiful bouquet of flowers, getting your nails done, reading a good book or inviting a friend over to watch movies like "When Harry Met Sally" or "Sleepless in Seattle". Any Meg Ryan movie makes me feel good. Lastly,  make yourself a Valentine. You deserve it!

What a sweet Valentine!! It's nice to know someone thinks of "always" when they think of their beloved. Sure to be appreciated.
