Flirty Layouts

I just love this CTMH paper called "Flirty." The colors are so pretty and vibrant. This paper pack can be used for Fall or Summer pictures as you can see in the layouts below. We will be making these layouts at my workshop this month on October 19 and 20. If you are interested in attending or would like to make the layouts on your own, please let me know and I will prepare a kit for you.

Baby's First Birthday

.
I am going to a baby's first birthday party today and needed a card. I went through the many chilhood stamps that I have and used "First Steps" and "Childhood" both from CTMH. The pieces of the train and cloud are popped up and buttons are used for the wheels. I hope the parents like it.

Don't You Ever Grow Up

Lexi is at that age where she is so little and cute but wants so badly to grow up. I know there will be a day when she won't be interested in spending time with me. There will be girlfriends and boyfriends and so many other things that take her away from me. When I heard the song by Taylor Swift called "Never Grow Up," it brought tears to my eyes because they grow up so fast. I decided to incorporate that song into my layout. I used the Dakota paper pack from CTMH.

Another Back to School Layout

I am loving this Scholastic paper pack from Close to My Heart. At first, I wasn't too sure about the dark colors. I was thinking more along the lines of pink and red to match Lexi's dress. But, the contrast of the darkers colors makes her dress pop. Love it!

Back to School Layout

Lexi started the second grade last week. I used the Scholastic paper pack from Close to My Heart to do my layout. The owl and back to school saying is a cutting file from Bear Hugs.

4th of July Layout

I have really been into making Paper Piecing Layouts recently. I love the way they turn out, but word of warning, they are not the easiest layouts to make. Every little piece has to be cut out and pieced together. I used the Silhouette Camio with the Design Studio Software to cut the pieces. If you get a Silhouette, make sure you purchase the software, otherwise the pieces are difficult to see on the screen. The Patriotic Bears came from "Designs on Cloud 9" and the title came from "Scrapping Bug Designs." The background paper is from CTMH's Fanfare paper pack.

Create a Critter Layout

Here is another paper piecing layout that I made, using the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge. The hills were made using the Country Life cartridge. I wanted the layout to match the animals in Brooke's little seat.

No Boys Allowed

I have been having fun these days making paper piecing layouts.  I used a cutting file from Treasure Box Designs for my layout. The frog and birds were cut from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridges.

Super Hero Card

Lexi is going to a boy's birthday today and while I have a ton of girly type stamps and pre-made made cards, I had nothing for a boy. In a panic, I searched the web for ideas and was able to put together this card using CTMH's Super Hero paper, badge buttons and matching stamp set. Lexi was happy with it and finished the inside with a drawing of her and the birthday boy at his party. The only thing that she didn't like was the back of the envelope that was embossed with Close to My Heart. Apparently, she didn't want to give the wrong message to this boy.

Baby Girl Loves Her Bath

Last night I went to the Friday night Crop at Jazzy Crafts and made this layout using these adorable papers from Doodlebug called Sugan and Spice. I had wanted to scrap this picture of Brooke in her Tulip shaped bath.

She's Ready to Pop

I was on Pinterest one day and came aross this website
http://scissorsandspatulas.com/2011/04/shes-ready-to-pop.html for a Popcorn Party Favor Box and decided to make my own for a baby shower that my daughter was hosting. I used the "Tags, Bags, Boxes & and More" and "New Arrival" Cricut Cartridges to cut out the box and pregnant lady. I used Score Tape to secure the box and the "Lucy" paper pack from Close To My Heart.
To make the box, set the Cricut at 6 inches. Once the box is cut out, turn it over to the wrong side and using a stylus and ruler go over the score lines that the Cricut made. They are very faint and and hard to see. If you notice, there are four scalloped edges per section. This is important to remember or your box will turn out a little lopsided.
Next, turn your box over and fold on all of the lines. Attach the score tape to the edges, assemble and then decorate the outside. For the pregnant lady, I cut her at 3 3/4 inches.
The inside is filled with White Chocolate popcorn Mix. Here is the recipe.

Ready to Pop, White Chocolate Popcorn Mix!
3 bags microwave popcorn, popped
2 – 12 oz. packages premier white chocolate morsels
2 – 12.6 oz. bags chocolate coated candies (such as M&Ms)
Mix half of popcorn {1- 1/2 bags} and 1 bag of candy in a large bowl. Melt 1 bag white chocolate morsels in microwave at 75% power for 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted. CAREFUL NOT TO BURN!!! Pour a small amount of chocolate over popcorn and stir to coat. Continue adding chocolate, a little at a time, until popcorn mix is fully coated. You will use about 2/3 of the white chocolate.
Spread popcorn mixture on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Using a spoon, drizzle remaining white chocolate over popcorn. Allow to cool for 1 hour before breaking popcorn mix into large chunks.
Repeat with remaining popcorn, candy and white chocolate.

Happy Easter to My Peeps

I made this cute card using the  "My Peeps" stamp set from Close to My Heart. The center peep is attached to a coiled spring mechanism that allows it to pop up. I think this card would be so cute to send to someone with a box of pink bunny peeps. Yum. I love that gooey, sugary marshmallow taste.

Hunger Games Pendant

Today is my beautiful daughter, Jennifer's, birthday. We are big fans of the Hunger Games; infact, Jennifer went and saw the midnight showing of it. To commerate her birthday on March 23, I made her this pendant of the Hunger Games. If you look closely, you can see the date "March 23." She was so happy when she opened her gift. To make the pendant, I used the poster below and printed it in a very small size. I bought the pendant and Tim Holtz bird at Michaels. They were both silver in color, but I wanted them to be gold, so I sponged on brown "Staze-on" ink and let them dry. Then I glued the "Hunger Games" words to the pendant with Liquid glass. Then I covered the whole thing in Liquid Glass and added the bird and let it dry.

Womb with a View

I had so much fun creating this layout of my granddaughter Brooke in her mother's womb. I had seen similar layouts done using a silhouette of a mothers belly, but didn't have one. I used the Cricut Cartridge "New Arrival" and set it at 11 inches for the circle with the mother cut out in the center. The paper used is "Roxie" and the alphabet is "Chocolate." Both are from Close to my heart.

Just 5 Days Old

I have a new granddaughter named Brooke Elizabeth and she was born on February 9. For her first Valentine's Day, her mother dressed her up in a cute little red outfit with a matching headband that had a big red flower on it. She looked so adorable and posed so nicely for the me in her "Boppy" pillow while I took pictures. Such a nice little poser at just 5 day old.

Finally a home for my large punches

As many of you know, my formal dining room is my scrapbook room and trying to keep it looking somewhat tidy is a challenge. One of my challenges is my punches. The smaller punches are kept in  my Michael's drawers. See the last picture. The large punches don't fit very well in them and I was storing them in a plastic container in the garage, which is a pain when I need to use them. Today, I discovered this chest in my garage and a lightbulb went off. As you can see, the punches fit perfectly in this chest and the chest makes a nice decoration in my living room which is attached to the dining room. I have other chests like this that are smaller and I bet that I could use them to decorate with and hide my supplies.

You are my friends

I just love this picture of Lexi with her best friends. She is so happy to be with them and is so proud of her recent tooth loss. I saw this layout on the Doodlebug scrapbooking blog and knew it was just the perfect layout for this picture. The paper used is called "Sweet Love" from Little Yellow Bicycle. I stuck the raised hearts on bakers twine and  attached little clothes pin to look  like they were hanging from a line.

Roxie Layouts

Hi Everyone, These are the layouts that we will be making at my February workshop. My daughter, Jennifer is expecting a baby any day now and I am so excited. A week ago a photographer took these pictures of her and I am so pleased at how well they go with these Roxi papers.

A Valentine for you

I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest these days searching out ideas for cards, scrapbooking pages, recipies, photography, baby clothes; you name it and they've got it. I am so in love with this sight that it has become an addiction, just like Facebook. How many of you have caught on to this latest rage? Well, anyway, Valentine cards have surfaced and one style in particular is the overstuffed envelope spilling out hearts, lots of hearts. A few years ago, I bought a Sizzix Scallop Envelop die but have never used it. Finally I got my chance and am so happy with it. The Valentine paper is from Martha Stewart as is the ribbon and felt heart.

Monkey Diaper Cake

There must be something in the water; so many babies are being born into my family. I made this diaper cake for my niece Miranda.  I love the monkey theme that is so popular now.  It made it easy for me to find items to put on the cake.
style type="text/css">body {background-image:url("http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k37/debscraft/BackGrounds/SWbllondeteddyBlogBG.jpg"); background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed; }
