Advent Calendar

Yesterday, I took Lexi to Jazzy Crafts. She made this adorable Advent Calendar using bottle caps, liquid glass and a baking tray. Lexi had way too much decorating her project.

Before we went to Jazzy Crafts, we stopped by The Creamery for lunch and ice cream.
When we walked in the door of The Creamery, look who we saw. Lexi was so excited and she had a great day.

Thanksgiving Layouts

These are my Thanksgiving Layouts. Don't think that I am super fast in getting my layouts done. Because I am not. Last week I had a workshop and these are the layouts that we made. The paper is Sweet Home from CTMH.

Happy Thanksgiving from Lexi

The turkey is from her hand print. We rubbed her hand in bamboo colored ink and placed it on the paper. She then watercolored it.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. You are probably busy putting your turkey in the oven or heading out to spend the day with friends and loved ones. Before my turkey goes into the oven, I would like to share a couple of cards with you. This first card uses CTMH's Tree Top Stamp Set and Goodness of Life.
This one uses Pumpkin Emma from C.C. Designs

So, what are your plans for today? I spent yesterday cleaning my house, because I have family coming over. We will have 25+ coming. Have a great day.
Hugs,
Lori

Crop Night

Last night was Crop Night at Jazzy Crafts in Castro Valley. I meet there once a month with some good friends and we always have so much fun. I made this layout there. I was inspired by Christine David's layout at the Portland Regionals that I couldn't wait to make one similiar to it.

Here I am with two of my good friends, Lorraine on the left and Pam on the right.

And, here is Jasmine the owner of Jazzy Crafts. She is always so sweet and helpful. She let me use her Cricut to cut out the letters and apple on my layout.

First Christmas card of the year

I took advantage of this month's CTMH Special and ordered all my Christmas stamps and couldn't wait to start playing. I love this set. It is called Heartfelt Christmas. All the stamps in this set are beautiful. The deer is stamped in Hollyhock. I applied glitter to the swirl around his head and around the oval shape. At the tip of his nose is a tiny sparkle. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the Tulip Cardstock. The other color of cardstock is Juniper and the patterned paper is "Creative Basices Jingle Collection". The ribbon is also from CTMH.

Trick-or-Treat Layout

I was inspired by Jeanette Lynton's Halloween Layout when I made this. The papers that were used are Bella and Tinkerin. The stamps used are Beware and Spellbound. The spooky tree is stamped with Versamark on black cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder. The word "spooky" was stamped on Tinkerin using the Poster Board stamp set.

I was impressed by Lexi's creativity with this layout. I had just finished punching out the felt pieces from the Heartfelt Die Cuts and she chose to use the negative portion to put around her layout.

Pumpkin Carving Layout

Here is a layout that I made of my family carving pumpkins. The paper used is from Bo Bunny.

This month is Stampaganza - Check it out

This month is Stampaganza for Close to My Heart. What that means is that if you purchase 2 stamp sets, the third one is free. The reason that I am sharing this, is because my favorite stamps, the months of the year "WORD PUZZLES" are going to be discontinued. This would be a good time to collect the set. There are other stamps being retired that are my favorites. You can see the list on my website.

Click "Shop on Line" to purchase stamps.

Portland

I am home from Portland. Elaine and I had a wonderful time. Here is a night time picture outside of our hotel.

This is the train that didn't want to let me off. Fortunately, for me, I was able to get off the train today in time for my flight home.

Here are some pretty fall trees at the train stop. There were leaves everywhere. It was so beautiful...even in the rain.

I'm in Portland!!!

Elaine and I are at the CTMH Regional Celebration in Portland, Oregon. It was a rough road getting here, and I don't mean on the airplane. Portland has a light rail system that is very unforgiving. Let me explain. We got on the train at the airport and passed many stops on the way to our hotel. When we reached our stop, Elaine jumped up with her suitcase and headed towards the door. So did I, but the door shut when I got up to it and wouldn't let me out!!!! It was pouring rain and Elaine was standing outside all worried about me....and so was I. Fortunately for me, there were some seasoned travelers on the train that told me what to do. I was able to catch a train back at the next stop and soon I was with Elaine again. So here we are this morning. You would not have wanted to see the picture of us two wet rats last night!!! This is Jeanette Lynton the founder of Close To My Heart.

When we got into the convention room, our tables were filled with goodies. Here are some of the things that were in my bag.
And, here are some of the cards that we made with these stamps.

And, a layout too.

Pumpkins

Every year for our Fall Fest at work, we have a Pumpkin Decorating Contest. I work for a City and the pumpkins are from different departments. This first one is my favorite. It was done by our Police Department. The sign says "Don't Get Smashed". You can't see from the picture, but Barbie and Ken are all bruised up. This one is a "Veggie Burger"

This one is from our "IT" Department

And, this one is from the Fire Department.

Halloween Layout

I was in a scrapbooking mood yesterday and decided to scrapbook the pictures that I had just taken. This layout was pretty easy. The sketch is from the October Page Maps. The paper used is CTMH Twitterpatted and the stamp set is Frightenin' Fun also from CTMH. The font is from the Cricut Storybook Cartridge. The buttons and flowers are from Bo Bunny.
