The Making of a Princess

Ever since I took these pictures of my granddaughter (4 years ago) getting a Princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Salon at Disneyland I knew I had to make a layout. She kept making the funniest faces and we all laughed so hard. The paper is not from CTMH, but from Simple Stories Little Princess.

A Young Lori at Disneyland

Here I am 13 years old at Disneyland for the third time in my life. The first time I was much too young to remember much about it except that it was the most fascinating place I had ever been to. The second time was with the Camp Fire Girls. This was such a special trip for me. My oldest sister took me, my younger sister and niece to Disneyland!!! And, we got to fly on an airplane. Those are two things that most kids didn't get to experience back then. This is when Disneyland had A-E ticket books. The E tickets were the best and you didn't get very many of them. I use CTMH Happiest Place to create my layout.

My daughter and her family went strawberry picking and made the most delicious jam. I wanted to capture the moment and created this layout using CTMH Stitched Together Paper Pack with Stickers.

Sunburst Layout

I was inspired by a current layout on the Close to My Heart Blog. When I saw the sunburst on the page, I knew that it would be perfect for my 60th birthday photo. You can see the blog post here

Let's Stay Home

With the Coronavirus going around and us crafters forced to stay home, why not document what your family has been doing during this time with a scrapbook page. I plan to make a page and use pictures from the internet of empty shelves, the toilet paper hoarding and the long lines. I will also add pictures of my family and tell what they have been doing. I love this stamp set. The images will look good on my pages. You can get yours here.

Homemade Hand Sanitizer

With everyone out of hand sanitizer, Brooke and I made our own. I found these cute little containers at Target. They are just the right size to fit in your purse.
To make it, you need:
1 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol
2/3 cup of Aloe Vera gel
8-15 drops of Essential oil
Mix well and put in your container

Dreams Take Flight

Happy Friday! Today I am playing with the "Dreams Take Flight" stamp set from Close to My Heart.
I don't know about you, but I love scrolling through Pinterest for Inspiration. I saw a card with an airplane flying over the trees and had an ah ha moment. I combined this stamp set with the pine tree from Spruced Up. To get the variation in tree color, I stamped in Charcoal ink and then without inking up, I stamped again and this gave a lighter version. I used water colors for the sky. Thanks for stopping by.

Wild and Free

Hi Everyone! My card class ladies are asking for "Man" cards so I decided to play with this stamp set from CTMH called "Wild and Free." I colored the fish with "TriBlend Markers" Each marker has three shades, so I didn't have to use many markers. I used these two, "Dull Green" and "Coral Blend." I colored the fish all over, with the lightest shade of Dull Green. Then I colored over the dark scales with the darkest shade, then I went over the spaces between the dark and the light with the medium shade and then blended it all together with the lightest shade. Then I went over the fins and tail with Coral blend, allowing some of the green to show through. I then I cut the cattails and ovals from Cricut. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set called "Jack-Cardmaking" and the fly fish hooks are from another retired set called "Campin Fever."
Thanks for stopping by.
